There is a story behind this beautiful bird, as with most quilts.
I grew up in the country, and there was an elegant Blue Heron that would stand at the end of our dock, "fishing" for his/her dinner. I was amazed at the grace and beauty of such a striking creature.
Then I took a holiday to Cannon Beach, Oregon. In an art gallery, there was a exquisite sculpture of a Blue Heron near the entrance. It stopped me dead in my tracks. If I'd had $5,000 to spend (in my dreams!) I would have bought it. So, I decided to go home, and make my own tribute so this elegant bird. I hope you enjoy!
