Dinah's Delight Small Floral Green by Betsy Chutchian for Moda Fabrics
Description:With each collection I create there is a storyto tell. Dinah’s Delight begins with an antiquequilt that was really two finished quilts thathad been cut up to create a new quilt in theearly 1800s. I was fascinated by the construction, wondering if the quilts were cut apart tohide them from the enemy, or if they were thesalvaged parts of damaged quilts. The name comes from Dinah Crisler Carpenter (1762-1836), my fifth-generation removedgreat grandmother. Born in Culpeper County, Virginia, Dinah married Samuel Carpenter, who fought alongside their fellow Virginiansin the Revolutionary War, and eventually hadfourteen children.Dinah’s Dilemma recreates the magic of theantique quilt, while Gentleness reflects thecolonial life of a reverend’s wife. I hope thiscollection of beautiful prints inspires you totell your story in a quilt
